I Love Victoria Ruvolo

Close-up of this guy’s glove here. Video here. I filmed this just outside the Carioca metrô station two nights ago and was moved by this dancer’s zeal and dedication. His glove broke my heart.
I just thought I should make it public that Victoria Ruvolo is now a candidate for one of my all time heroes. I know this site is about Brazil, etc, but I haven’t been so inspired in a long time. I can’t remember the last time I’ve heard of such an example of true Christian compassion. It’s true, I love Victoria Ruvolo. I also love Deborah Braunstein and wish she could find it in her heart to forgive me.
I don’t have much to report actually. I suppose I’m getting too used to living here to pay attention to every thing around here, but, as promised I got some pictures of the best coconut water cart ever known.

A great treat for the morning!
So yeah, that’s just a little cart where you can buy a cup of fresh coconut water to quench your thirst. The thing is though that they’re exploiting the fact that a coconut is about the size and shape of a small human head, and that the technique of using a machete to lop the top off of a coconut is kind of like nicking the top of such a head, and that sucking the juice within is kind of like lobotomizing the possessor of said head. Hence the smily tongue wagging “loko” coconut face. Delish!
Coconut water cart gallery here.
Alas, I will never top the peeing lime.

Hi,
I want to thank you so much for such wonderful words you use to classify me! But why are we all here on earth? I believe we are here to help each other become better and more fulfilled! I thank you so much for your beautiful words about me

I met Vicky only about 3 months ago and she is one of the dearest people in my life. To listen as Vicky shares her story and watch the compassion in her eyes shows me how much I should appreciate life. I have never met someone who I have connected so much within the first five seconds of meeting them. Vicky will always be one of my heroes. I could not sat enough good things about Vicky, she truly is an angel.
