The Second Latin American Half Endurance Event of the Year

From left to right: cara, me, cara, Lauren, cara.
So the first Latin American half endurance event of the year was the Mexican Rosarito - Ensenada Half Century Ride back in April. This second one was the Rio Half Marathon. Lauren and I ended up running it in 1:57. I’m pleased with that and I owe it to Lauren’s relentless pace setting.
Anyway, I’m fully back from Malta and ready to get back in the swing of things in Rio, but I’m also feeling like my time here is running out and I’m in panic mode. I’ve got a few things left to do at work, but there are about a million sites to see. Fortunately, my dear friend Mandy from San Diego will be here in 8 days and I’ll get to show her the town and see the things that I haven’t gotten around to seeing so far. Hopefully I’ll find a way to blog about them without constant access to the laptop, but I’ll do what I can.
I just found out that Swedish awesomeband Dungen played here last night even though their website indicates that they’d be playing tonight. Now my heart is frowning. At least I’ll get to see them at then end of September when I get back to San Diego.
